About the Firm
Our Practice
A Singapore tax advisory firm built around the belief that careful, considered counsel makes a real difference to businesses and individuals navigating their obligations.
Back to HomeOur Story
Founded on Precision
Nusantara Counsel was established by practitioners who had spent years in larger advisory environments and wanted to bring the same depth of technical knowledge to a more focused, responsive practice. Based at Raffles Quay in the heart of Singapore's financial district, the firm serves companies and individuals who value accuracy and straightforward communication over volume and speed.
Singapore's tax system is well-structured but not static. IRAS regularly updates its guidance, and the compliance calendar for most businesses requires consistent attention throughout the year. Our team tracks these changes and applies them to each client's specific circumstances without asking clients to monitor the landscape themselves.
We have chosen to remain a specialist firm rather than expanding into broader accounting or legal services. That focus means our advisers stay close to the work, and clients deal with the people who actually review and prepare their filings.
Our Mission
To provide Singapore businesses and individuals with tax counsel that is technically sound, clearly communicated, and delivered in a way that respects the trust our clients place in us.
Our Values
- Accuracy – every figure and every claim is checked before submission.
- Clarity – we explain what we are doing and why without unnecessary complexity.
- Discretion – client information is treated with the seriousness it warrants.
- Reliability – we meet deadlines and respond to queries promptly.

How We Work
Standards & Protocols
IRAS Compliance Framework
All filings are prepared in accordance with the Income Tax Act 1947, GST Act, and IRAS administrative guidance. We track legislative updates and IRAS e-Tax Guide revisions as they are published.
Data Protection
Client information is handled under Singapore's Personal Data Protection Act. We maintain strict access controls and do not share client data with third parties outside the scope of the engagement.
Multi-Level Review
Each tax return passes through preparation and senior review before filing. This two-stage process is standard across all engagements regardless of the filing's size or apparent complexity.
Deadline Management
We maintain an internal calendar of IRAS filing deadlines for each client. Advance reminders are issued so that information gathering can begin in time to meet every obligation.
Clear Client Reporting
After each filing, we provide a summary of what was submitted, the tax position adopted, and any matters that may require attention in the following period. Nothing is filed without client confirmation.
OECD-Aligned Transfer Pricing
Transfer pricing documentation is prepared to meet both IRAS requirements and OECD arm's length standards, suitable for use in cross-border disputes or in advance pricing arrangement discussions.
Tax Advisory Practitioners in Singapore's Financial District
Nusantara Counsel operates from Raffles Quay, within walking distance of many of the companies and financial institutions we serve. Our location in Singapore's central business district reflects our focus: businesses with real tax obligations, managed by practitioners who work in the same environment.
Singapore maintains a competitive corporate tax rate and a range of incentives for qualifying activities. Navigating these well requires more than processing returns accurately – it requires understanding which claims apply to a company's specific circumstances and presenting them in a way that is defensible under scrutiny. Our advisers bring that level of engagement to each engagement we take on.
For individuals, Singapore's personal income tax system operates on a residency basis and offers a number of specific reliefs that are worth identifying. Expatriates often encounter unexpected complexities when entering or leaving Singapore, and we aim to resolve those questions before they become filing problems.
Transfer pricing is increasingly a focus area for IRAS as Singapore-based multinationals grow and their intercompany structures become more varied. Maintaining clear documentation in advance is significantly less difficult than reconstructing it after a review has been initiated.
