Finance Director, Singapore
We switched to Nusantara Counsel two years ago after running into deadline problems with our previous provider. The difference has been noticeable. We receive reminders well in advance, we know exactly what documents are needed, and filings go out on time. No surprises.

Senior Manager, Singapore
I had a reasonably complicated personal tax situation this year – equity awards from a previous employer vesting after I had already left their office in London. Rathi walked through the Singapore treatment methodically and the return was handled without any drama. I appreciated that she did not make me feel like I was asking difficult questions.

Hamid Tan
Regional CFO, Singapore
The transfer pricing documentation Nusantara Counsel prepared for our Singapore operations was thorough and clearly structured. When our group tax team reviewed it, they noted it was one of the more complete country packages they had seen. We use it both for IRAS compliance and as internal reference for our pricing decisions.

Company Director, Singapore
As a small business owner I was always anxious about getting the tax filing right. Nusantara Counsel made the process manageable. They were clear about what they needed from me, and when I had questions I got a straight answer rather than a lot of hedging. The fee is reasonable for what you get.

Moving to Singapore mid-year created some complications I had not anticipated for my personal tax position. Nusantara Counsel sorted out my residency status and helped me understand the reliefs I was entitled to as a first-year resident. The process was handled with care and I felt the information I shared was in good hands.

Operations Manager, Singapore
We are a smaller entity within a larger group and sometimes feel like we fall through the cracks at bigger firms. Nusantara Counsel treats us like any other client. The filing is done carefully, the summary they provide afterwards is genuinely useful, and someone actually answers when we call.

Case Studies
Case Study 01
First-Year Filing for a Regional Subsidiary
Challenge
A manufacturing group incorporated a Singapore subsidiary to manage regional distribution. The finance team, based in Japan, was unfamiliar with IRAS filing requirements and uncertain which expenses were deductible under Singapore tax rules.
Solution
We provided a structured onboarding document covering Singapore tax fundamentals, issued a tailored information checklist in English and Japanese, and coordinated the first-year filing including ECI submission. The parent finance team received a clear post-filing summary they could share with group leadership.
Results
Both the ECI and annual return were filed on schedule with no IRAS queries. Identified SGD 22,000 in deductible items that the client's initial assessment had excluded. The subsidiary has continued the engagement for three subsequent years.
Case Study 02
Transfer Pricing Review Preparedness
Challenge
An e-commerce company received a letter from IRAS requesting transfer pricing documentation for related-party transactions with its Hong Kong and Malaysian affiliates. The company had no documentation prepared and was unsure how to respond.
Solution
We conducted a rapid functional review of the related-party transactions, identified the most material arrangements, and prepared a transfer pricing package covering three years of intercompany service charges and management fee arrangements. We also drafted the response to IRAS.
Results
Documentation was submitted to IRAS within the requested timeframe. IRAS accepted the documentation without further queries. The client now maintains contemporaneous documentation each year as a matter of standard practice.
Case Study 03
Multi-Year Expatriate Tax Correction
Challenge
A senior employee relocating permanently to Singapore discovered that returns filed by a previous adviser for two tax years had incorrectly treated stock option gains as non-taxable. The potential adjustment represented a significant personal liability.
Solution
We reviewed both prior years' returns, quantified the correct tax treatment under the Employment Income provisions, and prepared voluntary disclosure submissions to IRAS for both years. We presented the situation clearly and cooperatively, which supported IRAS's response.
Results
IRAS accepted the voluntary disclosures without imposing penalties, noting the cooperative approach. The client's tax position was regularised across both years and ongoing personal tax compliance has been managed by Nusantara Counsel since that point.
